Nashid Nabian has a Master’s in Architectural Engineering from Shahid Beheshti University and a Master’s in Urban Design from University of Toronto where she received the Toronto Association of Young Architects award. Since 2003, she has been partner at Arsh Design Studio, a Tehran-based architecture office both nationally and internationally recognized for its projects. She holds a Doctor of Design degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Nashid’s research focuses on how novel technologies can impact the spatial experience by soliciting the needs and desires of inhabitants or users. She has taught graduate seminar and design studio courses at the University of Toronto, Rice University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her research has been showcased in various venues, including the ACADIA, IEEE Digital Ecosystems Conference; the UCMedia Conference on User-Centric Media, the Mobile Multimedia Communications Conference, Toronto’s Nuit Blanche Annual Event, New Orleans’ American Institute of Architects DesCours Festival, and SEED Magazine. Currently, she is a post-doctoral fellow at MIT SENSEable City Lab, while holding a lecturer position in the Department of Architecture at Harvard Graduate School of Design.
